An Incredible way to Create new Brain cells (i.e. Increase Your Thinking Capacity)
Gone are the days when only a few people can be really smart/intelligent than others. Thanks to new neuroscience research; exercise GROWS and creates new brain cells(i.e more brainpower).
This self-limiting belief affected negatively affected my mindset about success and the possibility of achieving big goals.
Thanks to advances in brain scanning technology(i.e electroencephalogram EEG) neuroscientists could measure the impact of aerobic exercise on brain activity and function.
Scientists have noticed that 30 minutes of aerobic exercise should increase the size of the brain area called the hippocampus. The hippocampus is the brain area responsible for verbal memory and learning.
“In a study done at the University of British Columbia, researchers found that regular aerobic exercise, the kind that gets your heart and your sweat glands pumping, appears to boost the size of the hippocampus, the brain area involved in verbal memory and learning” source=https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/regular-exercise-changes-brain-improve-memory-thinking-skills-201404097110
This amazing!…
So your brain’s capacity can grow with a little bit of aerobic exercise?
Like most people, I used to associate exercise with going to the gym & trying to lose weight.
This brain research motivated me to do more aerobic exercises, like running for 30 minutes every day.
This means your brain is malleable and not as fixed as you used to think about your brain’s capabilities.
This means any individual can acquire or grow new skillsets to compete in the global economy.
This research means with access to technology like the internet you have unlimited learning resources(i.e udemy, Coursera, medium, etc), and in 30 minutes of aerobic exercise you can achieve all the big goals.
This research indicates you live a more intentional life.
The 21st-century economy demands you to be adapted to acquire the necessary skills to compete for jobs or capital to achieve your goals.
Since your brain is adaptable and can grow, it's important for you to find strategies to maximize this potential of increasing your brain (i.e Learning Capacity).
Me, I was over the moon when I discovered that exercise is one of those strategies to boost my LEARNING capacity.
